چکیده
The climbing perch, Anabas testudineus, is a nutritionally and economically significant food fish. present study reveals the first comprehensive description of life-history traits A. testudineus scooped up through different traditional fishing gears from July 2020 to December 2020. Among 120 collected specimens, smallest largest specimens were 8.5 cm–14.6 cm TL in Nilphamari Patuakhali, respectively. estimated b values for LLRs indicated positive allometric growth all sampling points (b > 1.0). LWRs Gazipur districts 3.00) negative Patuakhali Khulna < 3.00). A Wilcoxon sign-ranked test WR showed no dissimilarity 100, signifying balanced habitat testudineus. a3.0 was minimum (0.0110) maximum (0.0825). “The Lm at 7.4032 (7.4) 8.86 (8.9) Patuakhali”. Nineteen twenty morphometric measurements ten twelve meristic characters substantial variations (p 0.0001). principal component analysis shape variation explained 85.361% total variance differences TL, SL, HL, LBD, LE1, D1D2, A1A2, VV2. cluster heatmap demonstrates that other stocks segregated stock. Our findings reveal dataset about intraspecific phenotypic differentiation, which will aid long-term exploration management species Bangladesh its neighboring countries.

Handling of ferric iron by branchial and intestinal epithelia of climbing perch (Anabas testudineus Bloch).
With a view to test how the branchial and intestinal tissues of fish, the two sites of metal acquisition, utilize the water-borne ferric [Fe(III)] iron and whether the accumulation of this form of iron influences cellular Na/K gradient in these tissues, the gills and intestines of climbing perch adapted to freshwater (FW) and acclimated to dilute seawater (20 ppt; SW) were analyzed for ouabain-...

Oxygen uptake in relation to group size in the juveniles of a climbing perch, Anabas testudineus (Bloch).
The present work reports oxygen uptake in relation to group size in the juveniles (body weight: 0.70 to 1.30 g) of a climbing perch, Anabas testudineus (Bloch). The experiments were conducted at 21.5 +/- 1.0 degrees C using a cylindrical glass respirometer having continuous water flow system. With an increase in the number of fish at an interval of 5 from 5 to 40 in each fourth subsequent exper...
متن کاملEffect of L-tryptophan feeding on brain mitochondrial ion transport in net- confined climbing perch (Anabas testudineus Bloch)
Serotonin (5-HT), a neurohormone with many physiological actions, is synthesized from the dietary essential amino acid tryptophan (TRP). However, the effects of TRP on neuronal ion transporters and its role in stress response have not yet been identified in the teleost fish. The effects of varied doses of TRP on the activities of mitochondrial (m) and cytosolic (c) ion transporters were examine...
متن کاملAssessment of EMS-induced genotoxicity in the Indian climbing perch, Anabas testudineus: cytogenetical vis-à-vis protein endpoints.
Genotoxic effects of EMS have been assessed in fish, A. testudineus, using widely accepted cytogenetic protocols like chromosome aberrations, nuclear anomalies in red blood cells and abnormal sperm head morphology. In addition, gel electrophoretic protein profiles and total protein contents in nine selected tissues were analysed for evaluating their utility as potential indicators of genotoxici...
